North Shore City Council Adopt Master Plan
Devonport Master Plan by Sills van Bohemen Architecture has been adopted by North Shore City Council.
17 October 2006 - The Devonport Master Plan was formally adopted today by North Shore City Council.
The Master Plan has been developed from the original design that won an open urban design competition last year.
Sills van Bohemen co-operated with a working group to refine the winning concept into a Draft Master Plan for public consultation. This is intended to "provide a long-term vision which assists in promoting co-ordinated development throughout the Centre." SvB was engaged to facilitate the working group and undertake the design work, reporting and documentation to establish the Draft Master Plan.
The Draft Master Plan was displayed in public for two months. During that time there were also presentations given to the Devonport Business Association and to a public meeting. More than 60 written submissions were received and an extraordinary meeting of the Devonport Community Board was held to hear verbal submissions from 21 submitters.
Following consultation the document was revised by the Working Group taking into account community feedback.
Sills van Bohemen is continuing to work with Council to develop designs for individual aspects of the Master Plan.
